Salar de Chalviri

The Salar de Chalviri stands just next to the Laguna salada and Polques Lake (close to spring waters of the south of Lipez). It represents the crossing point to follow the road of Andean jewels in the direction of Quetena’s village; a base camp for the climb of Volcano Uturunku. It is flooded almost all year and that is why the boron exploitation is traditionally made by hand.
